I'm an aerial yoga & yoga instructor who has helped hundreds of students improve their aerial yoga practice since 2017. After traveling SE Asia with my husband for 3 years, and living in Austin, TX, we’re now based in Calgary, AB, where I'm focused on helping beginners learn aerial yoga.
Most of our classes are beginner-friendly and designed to help you feel safe, supported, and empowered—right from day one. If you’ve never stepped into a hammock before, we’ve got step-by-step videos and gentle intro flows to help you get started confidently.
If you do have access to a local studio, doing a few in-person classes is definitely helpful—but it’s not required. You’ll also have the option to join our live classes where Jess can offer feedback and guidance in real time, just like in a studio.
AYL TV isn’t just for beginners—it’s a treasure trove of inspiration for teachers and experienced aerial yogis too. With a constantly growing library of creative sequences and fresh flows, you’ll never run out of ideas.
My teaching style focuses on intuitive cueing and creative transitions—ideal for adding variety to your own classes. Even if you’ve been teaching for years, I'm confident you’ll learn something new and fall back in love with your hammock.
You’ll need:
• A securely installed aerial yoga hammock (I'd recommend low-stretch fabric)
• Two daisy chains
• Two carabiners
• A rigging point—either ceiling mounts (professionally installed), or a freestanding rig
These are the essentials to get started. Inside the membership I've got an Equipment Guide that walks you through exactly what to get, where to find it, and how to set it up safely.
Yes! AYL TV is totally flexible. Cancel any time—no hoops, no hassle.
The classes range from 10 to 60 minutes and are categorized by the class type (like Flow, Strength, Stretch, Low Hammock, Yoga and more). Whether you want to get strong, unwind your spine, or just get on your hammock and flow, there’s a class for your mood and level.
Safety is one of my biggest priorities. Every class is taught with clear cues, beginner-friendly progressions, and low-risk transitions. I recommend starting with Low Hammock or floor-based flows if you're newer to aerial yoga, and always listening to your body. I also guide you through proper gear setup so you can feel secure before your feet ever leave the floor.
